On May 13th the bronze statue "The Journey To Freedom" came for a few hours to Trenton. It is a 2200 pound bronze statue of Harriet Tubman leading her neice to freedom. The statue is mounted on a flatbed trailer and is currently moving with Freedom Walk 2026 along a route that Harriet Tubman took leading enslaved folks to freedom in Canada. It is making some "detours" and we were fortunate to be one of the places it stopped
There were many folks who stoped, admired it and talked with each other and with the two people accompanying the statue. It gave the teachers at the High School across the street a chance to bring classes over and it was there through dismissal time when the whole school got to see it.
The statue was in this area for the Burlington Meeting House weekend event Faith, Freedom and Friendship.
