Over on North Clinton Avenue and bordering on TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen) is Capital City Farm. The multiple acre farm and garden is owned by Mercer County and managed by a small number of paid staff. One of these is Graham who is active in Trenton Meeting. The Peqce and Social Concerns Committee became aware of the opportunity, and the need, for volunteers to help with garden tasks. On September 14th, eight Friends spent three hours assisting with a number of gardening "things". Planting spinach for the fall harvest, trimming dead "stuff" from tomato plants and harvesting beans were a few of the tasks we performed.
